"...He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth."

I'm not going to go into any grandeur or introductions. This is my blog. It's new. Welcome.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about what God is saying to me. It seems in our culture, that we do an awful lot of talking, but not so much listening. This rings true in various medium, but within my relationship with Christ, it is an especially prominent issue. During my quiet times, when the only thing I can hear is the thoughts in my head or the penetrating silence of a room, that is when I need to be listening to God the most. So, what do I do?

I get nervous, and fill the quiet space with appreciation, thoughts, and requests. While I'm sure this is all fine and good, my fear to be quiet in front of God is a little off-putting. No, it's very off-putting. Or at least, it has been. I've always thought that a problem unacknowledged is a disaster, but a problem dealt with head-on is just a stumbling block. (Whoa, that sounded like a terrible fortune cookie...)

So, my goal as of late has been to humble myself and quiet myself in the presence of the One who created me, and knows my every biological cell and thought, He who knit me together in my Mother's womb. It's amazing the things that I feel my Romancer whisper in my ears when I listen to Him. Words like, "Daughter, beloved, cherished."

There is also conviction and correction in the quiet. That is what I think I've needed to hear the most. So now, as I push on to continue listening to my Father, I ask you (whoever you may be) to pray. Pray, pray, pray for me. I need accountability and prayer from my brothers and sisters in Christ. I know you won't let me down. :) Please feel free to offer up prayer requests as well, so that I may be able to go before God for your needs as well.

P.S. - Isn't my cat cool?

She is not nearly so fond of Jane Austen as I am, barring the use of her literary masterpieces as a pillow. :)

P.P.S.-
Look at my new dress!!!! It's pretty much the coolest article of clothing I've ever owned. :)
